
In October 2025, retired U.S. Army Major Shawn Jenkins joined ERT as our new Director of Information Technology.
In this role, he leads ERT’s enterprise IT strategy, cybersecurity posture, and managed service provider partnerships, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable technology in support of our customers’ missions.
Shawn brings more than 26 years of experience leading complex, mission-critical IT operations for the Department of Defense. He most recently served as Deputy of Operations for the 21st Theater Signal Brigade, where he oversaw global deployments of communications and cyber teams, enabling data-centric operations and secure connectivity for Joint partners and senior national leaders.
Previously, Shawn led IT organizations supporting the U.S. Army’s 1st Space Brigade and Space and Missile Defense Command, forward-stationed missile defense units across three combatant commands, and U.S. and coalition forces in Afghanistan and South Korea. Across these assignments, he modernized networks, strengthened cybersecurity, and delivered resilient enterprise IT services in some of the most demanding environments in the world.
Shawn holds a master’s degree in Information Technology Management from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Maryland. A decorated combat veteran, his awards include the Bronze Star, multiple Meritorious Service Medals, and campaign medals for Iraq and Afghanistan. Shawn is married to LTC April Jenkins, and they have four children—Layla, Aiden, Kyle, and Alex—and a golden retriever named Mateo.
